Development of a Thermal Hydraulic Press to Produce Two-Layer Rubber Tiles
Supervised by Prof. Dr. Hussein Mohamed Abdelmoneam & Dr. Arafa Sobhi
Egypt generates 20 million waste tires a year. They pollute the soil and feed fires that are hard to put out. This thesis turns that waste into a product: rubber floor tiles for gyms, hospitals and playgrounds. We studied tile composition and pressing parameters, built and tested a metal mold, developed it further with 3D printing, then designed, modeled and analyzed the press in SolidWorks, along with its hydraulic circuit and automatic control.
